1st August 2007 Time is ticking

Another hot egyptian day behing us. Today it all started quite early, breakfast at Lighthouse at 7 o’clock and transport to the boat and on the sea right after it.

The weather is still the same, sun shining all day long, temperature durring the day between 38 – 40 degrees. It cooles down to 35 at night . Water temperature is 30 degrees at the surface and at the depths reached only by Martin and Niki, is enjoyable 25 degrees.

The team refreshed by energy of the new group assisted in Niki‘s sled training today. However, Niki is still fighting her health problems that got onto her in the beginning of our time here, so the depths she reaches are not as deep as she planned to be these days.

After the training all safety divers tried the liftbags, that deliver the freediver to the surface in matter of seconds if needed. Everything must be trained in advance, because if anything happens, there won’t be time to hesitate.and clicking the liftbag on a freediver must be done automatically.

Before dinner David lead the meeting about Martin’s tomorrow training again. Trainings are reaching the peak, the depths that Martin dives to get deeper and that‘s why everything needs to be exactly planned every evening. Record week is getting closer and we have the judges arriving in two days. And from August 5th the official record week starts.

So look for tomorrow’s news from Martin’s training. Pavlína
